Mykola Tomenko projects that the Tax Code will be on top of the agenda on November 30, when the plenary meetings of The Verkhovna Rada start.
M.Tomenko believes that the authorities were not ready to the public protests against the newly-drafted Tax Code that seriously affects the small business and leaves a tax status-quo for the big business. He supposes that the President has the only option due to the pseudo-expert discussions to convince the public of the beneficial nature of the document, and the total neglect of the proposals and amendments submitted by the opposition. "Upon receiving the draft, the President will return in to The Verkhovna Rada with a request to adopt a more liberal tax treatment of the businessmen entitled to a single tax," M.Tomenko stated.
The Deputy Chairman stated that the Verkhovna Rada would naturally return to the Tax Code in the light of amendments suggested by the President of Ukraine. "Whether the businessmen will accept these amendments and stop the actions of protest will depend on the drastic character of the changes," he admitted.
